Today, we witnessed an inspiring example of environmental leadership and community action during the Samtenling Stream Cleaning Program held in observance of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen’s Birthday and World Environment Day. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Thimphu Thromde for organizing and leading this meaningful initiative, and for creating a platform where leaders, public servants, citizens, and volunteers could come together in service of a cleaner Thimphu. Earlier, the registration link for the cleaning program was shared through ThromAI GongphelHUB, and we are truly honoured to welcome and recognize the Hon’ble Parliamentarians, including the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Opposition Leader, Members of the National Assembly, Members of the National Council, public servants, citizens, and volunteers who came forward and took part in this meaningful initiative. A particularly inspiring moment was the signing of a Joint Commitment and Assurance on the Protection and Cleanliness of Rivers and Streams by Members of the National Assembly and National Council, reaffirming their collective commitment to safeguarding Bhutan’s environment for present and future generations.
